Epipremnum Pinn Moss tick Scindapsus

Description:
The Epipremnum Pinn Moss Tick, also known as Scindapsus, is a popular trailing plant often mistaken for its close relative, the Pothos. This plant is part of the Araceae family and is prized for its glossy, heart-shaped leaves that come in a variety of striking colors, including shades of green, silver, and even variegated patterns. It’s a low-maintenance plant known for its fast-growing vines, which can be trained to climb or cascade, making it an excellent choice for adding greenery to shelves, hanging baskets, or vertical planters. The Moss Tick variety features dense, lush foliage with a slightly fuzzy texture, adding a unique visual appeal to any space.

Care Guide:

  1. Light:

    • Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light levels.
    • In low light, the plant's growth will slow down, and the variegation may fade.
    • Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, as this can cause leaf burn or scorch the edges.
  2. Watering:

    • Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry.
    • Be careful not to overwater, as the plant is sensitive to waterlogged roots, which can cause root rot.
    • Reduce watering during the winter months when the plant's growth slows down, allowing the soil to dry out more between waterings.
  3. Soil:

    • Prefers well-draining potting soil. A standard houseplant mix with added perlite or orchid bark works well for improving drainage.
    • Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent excess water from sitting at the bottom of the pot.
  4. Temperature:

    • Thrives in temperatures between 65-85°F (18-29°C).
    • Keep it away from cold drafts or areas with sudden temperature changes.
    • Avoid exposure to temperatures below 50°F (10°C), as this can cause damage to the plant.
  5. Humidity:

    • Prefers moderate to high humidity levels, but it can tolerate average indoor humidity.
    • In dry conditions, especially during winter, mist the leaves occasionally or use a humidity tray to increase moisture around the plant.
    • Placing the plant near other plants or in a bathroom with indirect light can also help increase humidity.
  6. Fertilizing:

    • Feed with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer), about once a month.
    • Reduce fertilizing in the fall and winter months when the plant is in a dormant phase and growth slows down.
    • Over-fertilizing can cause the leaves to turn yellow or brown at the tips, so it’s better to under-fertilize than overdo it.
  7. Size:

    • Pot Size :  24 cms
    • Height :  135 cms
